When I bought my female Siberian Husky, the breeder told me that pure white huskies were rare. Four years later, my female had 2 pure whites in her first litter and now I am being told that yes they are rare and then no they are not rare. I am debating on which puppy that I want to keep, and dont want to sell both of the white ones if indeed this is a rare color. Please give me good advice!

I was told by another Husky owner to check the undercoat and if there was no color at all then it was considered pure white. Mine is pure white.

No. Because color is not a important part of the breed's function, Siberians can be any color. White is a perfectly acceptable and relatively common coat color in the Siberian Husky. It's actually very common in some lines, especially those with a racing background. I have several white dogs in my kennel, and actually ran an all-white sled dog team, at one point (a mother and her litter).

Anyone who tells you their white Siberians are "rare" and charges more for them is uneducated in the breed and unethical (which means they probably shouldn't be breeding in the first place). Coat and eye color are not reasons to breed, nor anything to base a dog's "value" upon.

I don't think they are rare, No. Because color is not a important part of the breed Siberians can be any color. White is a perfectly acceptable and relatively common coat color in the Siberian Husky. I have seen an all white sled dog team before. They are not rare, but very pretty. It's actually very common in some lines, especially those with a racing background.

In Alaskan malamutes the pure white breed is very rare. In siberian huskies pure white is not rare at 'toll.

yes it is rare. keep the white one, rare or not you still have a puppy to keep and if it's rare your lucky and if it's not well give it lots of love and remember even though it's rare it's the love that you have for the dog and the dog has for you that counts

keep the white because if it is pure white it is rare
but if it has grey or black spots it is not that rare
