She's a puppy - dogs don't come into the world trained.
You have to be consistant with the dog. And, you have to be patient.
She doesn't know that biting isn's appropriate because you are doing something that is encouraging her to bite you. Give her something that she can bite (chew bones, toys, etc...)
When she bites, be stern, and use a single word command. Maybe a soft pop on the nose (not to hurt her, but to get her attention) will help at first. And, above all, remove whatever it is that makes her want to bite (you have to seriously consider your behavior too.)
You don't want to hurt the puppy, or she'll be afraid, and lose all that spirit that will make her a happy dog.

When your puppy does something wrong don't shout NO at it. you need to use a word that you wouldnt say very often, for example when my puppy does something wrong i say AHAH. I only use this when he does something wrong. i also had the same problem with biting and i found that if you make a high pitch sound while he is biting you and then say AHAH he soon learns that he is doing wrong. You have to teach your dog how 2 play and what he can and cannot bite. Reward him for doing good and get him a toy, rubber is best i think, that he can chew on, remember he is a puppy and he is teading.
hope this helps

She is teething, so her gums itch. Buy her some chew toys or some tarter treats that are are hard and will keep her occupied or give her an old pair of sox or something she can tear up. the chewing will pass eventually when her teeth have grown in. All you can do is make sure all your shoes and other edibles are put away. I lost a new pair of boots that fell victim to puppy chewing a few years ago. Be careful because she will try to chew on you too.

First off, she's a puppy. Puppies are like human babies...their gums hurt when they're teething and chewing on something helps relieve the pain.
Second, get her some good chew toys, i.e., ropes (which also help to clean their teeth), and semi-soft squeeky balls (you can interact with her by throwing the ball which keeps her busy and helps train her to "fetch"). Greenies bones are another good chew alternative.
Third, make certain you pick things up that she likes to chew....like your shoes and anything that's made from leather.
Get through the next seven months and you'll be (almost) home free. In the meantime, enjoy her!
Good luck

Others will start screaming 'cruel' at what I am going to suggest, but if you have had any dealing with animals you would understand what I mean. Puppies (and other animals) when being nursed by their mothers do bite and nip. The mother immediately bites gently back. I suggest that whenever he bites, you pinch him quite hard each time immediately. Hard enough to make him yelp. Whatever you do, if you do not cure him of the habit within a fortnight, I suggest that you get rid of him for fear of him badly injuring one of the children and marking them for life...

Puppies at 5 months are teething and also if you say "NO" over and over again...like children, they don't hear you after a while. No means No and your puppy needs to know that! Get your puppy a good teether..any pet supply store has these products and also try using the inside of a papertowel tube. It's hollow and makes a terrible sound and will definitely get their attention when you say NO...just tap it against your hand and say NO...your puppy will soon listen! Good luck!

This will sound mean but it works. When the dog bites people take her top lips and curl them over her top teeth then squeeze like you are trying to poke them through her lip(not literal) but pretty hard and say don't bite. 1-2 weeks of that and she will not bite. Puppy's chew direct her to toys!

PUT LEMON JUICE ON YOUR HANDS!!!! dogs hate the taste of anything bitter and when he keeps biting you he will associate that bite with the awful taste and eventually learn to stop biting. also fill a empty soda aluminum can with penies and tape shut and when he does someting bad rattle the can and say "NO" , it will scare them and then they will associate your no with a scare! hope this is helpful! please try, dont give your doggy away ;(
