I buying a dog newt week but i don't know which to get a chihuahua or a golden retriever can you help me ?

If you want a small annoying dog get the chihuahua if you want a nice loving dog get the golden retriever.

From personal experiance and viewing of other pets, a chihuahua is not the greatest pet to have. From birth to death, they usually never get completley potty trained, and have a shorter life span. Golden Retrievers however, are happy, playful companion and are easily potty trained. They also are very good about protecting themselves and others, and do it in a less annoying way than chihuahuas.

Wow what a difference! Some people think a Chihuahuas are good for asthma. Do you have asthma? Chihuahua are very yippee,seem to be more aggressive, think they have something to prove, dynamite come in small pkg. Goldy are very smart, easy to train, great watch dogs, very loyal to you and your family members. If you have the space go with the goldy. Go look at each and look at their eyes goldy show so much love. Had both, my vote is for the goldy. Have fun choose the one that fits your life style goldy need more exercise more active. Chihuahua are more for the couch potatoes, and they are sicker of the two. Have fun.

Get the Chihuahua.

But I am biased since I have 2 and have had more in the past. They are so awesome.

First, they get very attached to you so they get excited to see you even if you're only gone for like 10 min.

Second, they are very good watch dogs. They even alert me of strangers while they are inside with the TV volume high.

Thirdly, my male Chihuahua is almost like a pitbull in that he will take on any dog or person when he feels that I am in danger. He regularly goes toe to toe with my German Shephard even though she outweighs him by 90 pounds.

Fourth, they don't eat as much.

Fifth, they are easier to paper train.... and their poop are much smaller.

Sixth, they are so cute. Some you can even carry in your pocket.

I have a golden & love her to pieces, she is my angel & best friend! What you need to think about is they are 2 completly different dogs. Golden's are big & need lots of room to run around & need lots of attention & brushed/groomed almost daily. I think the worst thing is the shedding. So much hair everywhere especially in the spring when they shed their winter coat. Bigger dog = more food = bigger poop and dig bigger holes! My girl is 90 lbs. compared to a chihuahua @ 8-10 lbs. But I wouldn't trade her for anything!! Golden's are one of the best tempermented dogs & just want to be loved.

If I were you I would get a golden retrever. I don't like chihuahuas they are yippy dogs and tend to bite a lot. They are also bad with children. Plus my neighbors have one and it is very unpredictable. My elderly neighbor came over and usually the dog was fine with people but it drew blood from her. So I would say go with the golden retrever.

personally i perfer da golden retriever way more. lol their good obidient dogs, easier to teach i heard. they make a good "man's best friend". chihuahua are only good because their small so its easy to have them in the house, and girls typically perfer them better because of their size. but golden retriever will give u that man's best friend feeling because their loyal and big, almost like a buddy haha

well if you are looking to use it to impress the girls buy a Chihuahua and if you need it to jog, run or be athletic get a golden retriever

Goldens are wonderful dogs. They are very loving, and good with kids. Any kind of retriever that I've ever dealt with has had a good disposition.
