The past week, every time I turn my water on, the pipes all starting shaking and making loud noise. I have a well, pressure pump, whole-house filter, water softener and iron filter. I'm afraid the pipes will burst? Why is it doing that after living here 3 years? What do I do to fix it?

The mower has a new air filter, gas filter, and the cap air vent is fine. Dealer says it is the gas (Virginia) and to try some premium. I did and it runs fine. But all gas must be new or problem reappears (with week old gas). Does anyone have a solution for this?

I hired a plumber refered to me by my gardener. I think it's his cousin. Anyway, Mario showed up right on time and inspected my plumbing problems and needs. As usuall, the problems were much greater that I had anticipated.

He told me that is was best if all the problems were taken care of at one time. So, trusting him I said ok.

I had no idea he would remove 7 toilets, both water heaters, the washer and dryer, and what looked like a half ton of copper pipe. He stated that it was better to take all of the above to the shop for inspection and repair.

That was a little over a week ago. I haven't seen him since.

Should I be worried?

I need a new combi boiler, circa 100 000btu. It needs to be fitted in replacement to the old boiler which is knackered. In addition I need the Gas Pipe moved extended by about 5 metres for my new oven.

I have been quoted £1700??? This seems way too high; am I wrong?

I recently just purchased an old farm house built in the 1900's. The floor is being raised, but we are finding a lot of broken glass and animal skulls all over the crawlspace...more in some areas than others. The skulls are actually what we think are deer or horse...they are big. Our question is how did they get down their.....someone had to have put them their.
Is their some kind of tradition or superstition that goes along with this?

My propane company called today and said that I had to pay over a hundred dollars in "inactivity fees". I haven't needed propane in almost 2 years, and now they're saying since I use their tank I have to pay them for inactivity. I asked them if this is a rental fee, and they said no - it's an "inactivity fee". Huh? Can anyone tell me if this is regular practice?

Renters who did not pay their rent abandoned the place to their own fleas and cockroaches. In cleaning the house, I discovered they'd coated the entire floor and drain of the stall shower with concrete, and stuck a screw driver upright into the drain. Obviously it was done some time ago, not because they were mad at me or even believed I'd evict them. What's the purpose of this?

OK I could actually turn off my water heater and use a camp stove as I live alone, and just don't was but one load a week, don't go out but a couple of times a week because of my illness and am desperately trying to cut costs. So some have said if I turn it to as low as it can go (vacation?) then when I turn it on again it costs more, kind of like turniing your car engine off, it takes more gas to restart it etc. but how does a gas water heater work and why wouldn't it be OK for me to use a camp stove for a month and see how much it saves, I'm either going to cut utility costs or have to do something drastice like ???? move, move in with someone etc. I am sick with M.E. so can't work to make more and many other things. Hope I have explained it well enough so that you can just tell me like: If you shut if off completely in your garage, it will ???/ If you turn it to vacation and then on twice a week it will ???? Save or not or ??? thanks

My aprtment complex is brand new (2 months old) and my bill was 91.00 first month.

At the beginning of this month some electrical company came and did some maintanance in the elevator mechanical room on the first floor. I live on the 2nd floor, right next to the elevator. I mean, right next to it. I also noticed that when someone goes up in the elevator my lights flicker once. Could they have crossed wires and put the elevator on my meter?

It's a 3 story apartment building with a hydraulic elevator.

We had a mixer shower fitted in the bathroom, where previously there was an electric one. We were advised that due to the type of shower and the position of our hotwater tank, we should fit a pump, which we did. However, when we run the shower, and switch on the pump, there is absolutely no difference to how the shower works (which is ok) and the little indicater light on the shower switch goes out. If we dont use the pump, shower works exactly the same. We wondered if the pump only operates if it is required to, (ie if the pressure drops) or is it faulty?

It's a fairly large car so manual lifting is out of the question. I suppose a crane may be needed but I don't think I can get one close enough without destroying my prize roses.

Could explosives be used? Just enough to get it out. Then I can drive it to the street.

I filled the glass with 1/3 water and put it into the microwave for nearly 2 minute. It was hot when I removed it from the microwave, so I transfer the liquid into another cup. Right then I turned on luke warm water from my sink, about to rinse the glass tumbler. The moment I placed the glass tumbler under the running water it cracked....I should have known better than to place a hot material under luke warm running water.. Other than the acciddent, can this mean anything else? Will there be any bad luck?...

The shower has been running since April and was made worse when one of the maintenance men came by past Saturday to "fix" it. Said was out dated, put back together (half-way as it is leaking EVERYWHERE!), & I have not seen nor heard from anyone no matter who I call since then. What can I do??? Isn't there a "help" line or something? Thanks for your time looking at my question.

our daughters room. The contractors who came, they don't want to work in the rain. ( their town got rain but here we didn't)they didn't work last weekend, and they didn't work Monday ( I guess becuase of the holiday) Then yesterday one of them got sick and had to go to the hosp... I'm thinking if they don't come back by Monday I will (maybe) call and yell at them. The one that is still healthy could hire someone, right? I mean its Cold in the morning and I can't run the heat with so many open spaces...
On the other hand, I have a very high level of anxiety which is being made worse for every day its not done..
What do you think?
