The mower has a new air filter, gas filter, and the cap air vent is fine. Dealer says it is the gas (Virginia) and to try some premium. I did and it runs fine. But all gas must be new or problem reappears (with week old gas). Does anyone have a solution for this?

I would suspect the ignition module. As it gets hot it is breaking down and giving a weaker and weaker spark until it dies. Could be with new higher grade gas it will continue to run. I don't think that the gas is going to be the permanent fix.

I have never heard of a dealer saying to use premium in a mower..most new automobiles shouldn't even have premium in it... But some gas mowers have a engine shut off switch built in that when the oil level gets a little low..it will shut off automatically once warm..also clean the sponge oil filter out by the carburetor..this will allow better air flow to the gas ratio...You clean sponge air filters out with a little oil..search iton th3e net..do not use water to clean it as I have seen some say to here...

Most of the gasoline on the market today is not what it used to be. Stabilizer is a fix for that, and most small engine companies now recommend you put no more fuel than you will use at any one mowing in the machine due to this problem. It sounds like there is water in the fuel you are getting. Just put in what you need. Buy it fresh before you start, but just enough. Don't let fuel sit for more than 2 weeks. It gets sticky and will gum up your carburetor.

get some gas stablizer, sold at a auto store or hardware, store gas in a cool place, the higher the grade the hoter it will burn, may over heat your mower, use reg gas, change the plug to a hot type plug, gap at 60 thousants,
