It has to be recharged everytime I use it. Any ideas why and how to fix it? I'm not sure about the model but it's a manual transmision. Does it have an alternator or something? I put a brand new battery on it and it still has to be charged everytime.

I do not know much about this but we have central air/heat. The weather turned from hot to freezing within a couple of days so I went to turn on the heat and it doesn't work. It sounds like it is on and everything but when I feel over then vents, there is no heat coming out. The air conditioning works fine though. Anyone know what the problem could be? I jsut don't want to pay tons of money if it is something simple. Were all freezing...someone please help! Thanks!!!

Is it important to have done?
Do you have to do it every year?
Does just vaccuuming it out take care of it all? and how much should I expect to pay?

I've tried all the things I normally do when it runs (jiggle the handle, make sure the flap is down), but nothing is working. There is a tube that water pours into, and it fills up the back of the toilet. Normally the water stops before it gets to the top of this tube, but now it just keeps getting higher and flows over the top into the tube, and the water runs constantly. Thanks for any help.

If one were to attempt to unscrew the screw driver would slip right off . (i.e. no backing to unscrew)

Does a landlord have to make repairs to a house that I am renting? We almost had a fire, due to a power box on the side of our house not being wired right. The lights flicker and around 5-10 plug-in outlets do not work. A rep from the power company came out and inspected the box, reccomended that the landlord replace it. He sent his electrician out, who had orders to basically "Jerry Rig" it, instead of replacing it. We have tile in the Bathroom, that is missing in spots, that shows the boards underneath. The house is really old and needs lots of repair work. The swamp cooler is probably 30+ yrs old. Hot water in bathroom sink does not work. He ran pvc pipes from the Washing machine "about 30 feet" to the street, so it drains in the street. Plus we think there is mold and lead paint. Is there anything we can do to get this guy to fix this??

Does anyone know whether they make dryer cords (specifications mentioned above) in longer lengths than six feet? I am specifically looking for an 8 - 10 foot length. If they are available somewhere, could someone tell me where? I can't seem to find one anywhere. Thanks!

I hate how I don't know what I'm going to make a ceiling fan do by pulling the cord. Will it go faster or slower? I'm already cold, is it slow or is it already off, and if I pull the cord, will it go full blast and freeze me to death!?! I don't know how many speeds it has. Do they all have the same speed or do luxury ceiling fans have like twelve speeds, and do ghetto ceiling fans only have two?? You have to pull the cord and then sit and wait for the fan to "slow down" before knowing if you have to pull the cord again. Ceiling fans do not have brakes, but they should. I want the ceiling fan to come to a screeching halt when I tell it to. Maybe I'll just stick a broom in it next time.

I have an old set of copper bottomed Revere cookware frying pans and kettles. They are all labelled with something like this on the bottom: 1801 REVERE WARE 12 in.-85 CLINTON, ILL. U.S.A.
Is there a possibility that these may be aluminum and not stainless steel.

I just moved into a new house.
After a bit of fiddling about I have managed to get all radiatirs working except for two upstairs bedrooms.
I have bled them until water is coming out.
There is no heat in the pipes entering or leaving the radiators.
I have turned up my water pressure and my thermostat. Dont know what else to try

Thanks

have a newer single story home with a full-finished basement.
The entire basement is finished except for a utility room where the furnace and water heater are located.
The problem is -- You can hear the furnace running and the gas water heater running in the family room directly above this utility room. The utility room has the ceiling open and the 1st floor joists exposed, etc. I was thinking of putting some Rockwool insulation in the utility room ceiling between the joists to help soften the noise..... Any other ideas?

I have 2 cats, and someone gave me an electrical-powered litter box which I set up in my kitchen near an outlet, and I'm very happy with it. However, the OLD spot for the litter box was out of sight underneath a shelf in my pantry. Can I get a long extension cord and attach it to the wall so I can move the box back, and what kind of tacks do I need to buy, and how closely souuld they be tacked? Can someone please help me, I'm a woman on my own for a short period of time and need to learn how to do this kind of thing myself! Thanks so much.

There is a minor drip-drip sound coming from the back of my toilet. It seems to be inside. I don't see any water anywhere. Could this be bad, like causing water damage to the floor underneath the toilet? Or do you think it is just dripping within the toilet? Please help, I'm no plummer.
