NO...Of course it's OK to turn on your furnace..Just set it at 68 degree's so it will not run all the time and save yourself some money. Especially if you heat your home with heating oil. Going to be a COLD winter according to the forecasters. I have mine on already here in Maryland...

That is a very subjective question. If you are chilly, then by all means, turn on your furnace. It isn't like you can't turn it off if the situation changes. As long as yuo can pay your utility bill, go for it. You could also get a safe space heater if you don't want to have the furnace running for a long period of time.

Where we live its cold all year - joy of living on a mountain with those glorious views. Our best days are when the sun shines and the temperature goes above 40 degrees C and the heating goes off for a while.

It's not too early, turn it on and be comfortable. For money saving tips to keep it working properly and make sure it is ready, check out the furnace page at www.hvac-for-beginners.com.

It's always best to turn it on early to make sure there are no problems with it. Best to turn it on now while its not 30 below...than to find out at the last minute you need repairs...and all the service men are busy....and everyone has icicles hanging from their ears

What JD said: If you're cold, then turn on the furnace.
I'm a bit cold-natured too.
