I am seeking some help on my washing machine.

The water just keeps infuse and won't stop; and it would not start washing either. If I turn the knob to SPIN, I seem to be able to force it start spinning, however, I notice there is water leak from the bottom.

Anyone know what might be the problem? Thank you so much.

I have a new acrylic tub and acrylic shower wall. The tub is somewhat flexible and the new construction lumber has probably not settled into place yet so when filling the tub, a lot of stress is put on the caulking. Acrylic caulk cracks and silicone caulk has pulled away. I've tried caulking this thing 4-5 times now but I'm still having trouble. Is there a better option or technique for a flexible joint? How about that caulking tape stuff?

I have a basement apartment, in which two rooms on a single circuit contain two computers (one LCD monitor and one CRT monitor), a television, a few lamps and sometimes an XBox. Is it possible that I overloaded the circuit with that much power? The lamps were flickering weird and a day or two later, the power in the room simply went out (and overloaded my crappy surge protector and blew up my old computer.)

Is the wiring in here just crappy? My landlord says I have too much plugged in, but computers don't use THAT much power. Is he just lying so he doesn't have to hire an electrician? Should I really have to reset the breaker every week or so?

We have this pipe that connects to the kitchen. Everytime we wash dishes or use the sink the water go's directly to the pipe. But the problem here is that the pipe is so old that it totally rusted through. So now there's a huge hole in the pipe and thats why it leaks. And I don't mean a little leak, I'm talking gushing water like niagra falls! What do we do?!

I met with a professional today to look at our 1928 plaster wall 3 story, hw boiler, partial attic, stucco exterior house. He came up with a solution using high velocity air which requires only about 3" flexible duct in the majority of the house and a dehumidifyer in 1/2 of bsmt which we couldn't figure out how to get the ductwork to from the proposed attic air handler hence the seperate systen in that 1/2 of the basement. The basement floor is slabe on grade concrete and the ceiling is spancrete Our main goals is to "clean" the air, my wife and I have allergies and there is a mildew smell in the basement. I asked him to price in a UV filter as well to kill dust mites, mold and mildew.

I've had the same CO detector in my home for many years now, perhaps more than 7 years. The lights work (both POWER and CAUTION) and every time I press the TEST button it lets out the loud beep that it should when CO is in the air. My concern, however, is whether or not the detector is still as functional as it was when it was purchased.
Granted, I've been using the same smoke detector for 20 years and it seems to work A-OK, but are CO detectors any different?

I just had a new roof. The question is there are many shingles sticking up. The roofer said that those sticking-up shingles will be flatten down after several weeks with rains and sunshines. Is this an acceptable interpretation to the questional work quality?

Thanks for your knowledgeable thoughts.

I don't have an owners manual since I just bought the house and it's an older model garage door opener. It's a fixed keypad on the outside of the garage.

I have a running toilet. First possible solution, I replaced the flapper. This stopped the running, but the toilet is still making a noise that sounds like someone is rapidly banging on it. It's not a loud noise but it makes my mirror (across the room) rattle. At first I thought my next door neighbor may have left on their bathroom fan. However, after some detective work, I realized it was my toilet because the noise stops when I shut off the water. Any solutions to this problem would be greatly appreciated.
