I have no hot water and the overflow from my hotwater tank has started leaking. I cant get in it to see if it is the ballcock, could it just be the ballcock thats the problem or could it be something more serious? Is there anything I can do in the meantime to stop the overflow leaking?

I have a washer and dryer downstairs in my apartment basement. There have been several occasions where other tenants who do not have appliances of there own use other peoples appliances without there permission and we have been getting sky rocket utility bills. Not only that but they have cockaroaches on top of that....I need advice on how to lock these appliances so that other people will not use them. Any handy suggestions?

i found termites in my backyard munching on tree stumps and firewood. I have lived in a single-family home in Virginia for 2 years.

Should I get a termite plan? or DIY

I got an estimate for $900 for termidor. They inject it around the house.

A different company wanted to set up baits around the house for $600 plus $200 a year to change the bates periodically.

My electric water heater is only a couple years old, but I hear that gas heaters heat the water faster and cheaper. Are the potential savings significant enough to justify replacing a fairly new electric model?

it has been blowing bulbs from day one in the bottom oven which we were told was due to a loose fan, still blowing bulbs! now i have to turn the whole thing off after using it as i have to set the cooking time timer to get the bottom oven to work, unless the fan runs permanantly afterwards. All the clocks settings are set up correctly and electrolux will not advise, but will send someone out and with no doubt a massive bill

Occasionally the lights in the house pop and short circuit. The fuse box says to use 5 amp fuse wire. I have replaced it a couple of times and it is still the same. I wondered if using 10 amp fuse wire would solve the problem or whether I should get the electrics checked?

Yes, that is right. No reading the directions, just taking out the new toy and playing with it, for hours. Yes, the green grunge is gone. However, now the banisters and the flooring have very much of a splintery feel.

Please help me remedy this situation, short of building a new deck. I haven't stained it yet, cause i know there is more work to be done. Right?!
