Commercial style - Home Depot rental centers usually sell off their old tools at certain points of time. You can get up to a 100ft snakes. But a general home use you can get at any old hardware store.

Don't buy used. You get what you pay for.
For small drain lines, <2" and < 15", get one from Home Depot.
For larger lines, 3" and larger, get a good name brand, e.g. Ridgid.

Just get a NEW one, any hardware store 10 to 15 bucks, depending on length. Its MUCH better to work with a new clean untangled one.

Sometimes you can rent them if your local library has a "tool lending" library attached. Ours does. Good luck.
