I live in Liverpool. I have a touch lamp that the light (used to) comes on in 3 levels of brightness from touching the metal part of the lamp. The light has burnt out. I've tried regular light bulbs and they just stay on, they won't brighten or darken and the light won't go off. So I'm thinking I need a special light bulb for it, but none of the lighting shops know anything about bulbs for touch lamps. The bulb doesn't say anything on the top like regular light bulbs but it says 240/60 N805019B on the metal part of the bayonet. Any body know where I might look for a light bulb. I hate to throw away the light, it's gorgeous. Thanks for helping.

I own a home that was paid off by my insurance company as a total loss due to toxic black mold. I remodeled the home, but did not have professional mold "remediation". My wife of 23 years took out a loan on this property and did not disclose to the appraisor or lender regarding the history of this home. Now she has filed for divorce and my name is still listed on deed.....did she do wrong?...could I potentially be liable?

And approx. 3" 12 pitch. We are getting a new roof and the g & d are really old and ugly. Our house is sheltered by trees so they get clogged 2 weeks after you clean them. AND, we are selling the house in the spring and want to increase the curb appeal.

I have a 3/12 low slope dormer on the back side of my Cape Cod. One roofer suggested a self adhesive flat roof system (which I’m told costs more) while another roofer said covering the dormer with an ice shield and shingles would be enough to prevent leaks. Who to believe?

I own a 1100 sqare foot ranch with an attached 2-car garage. I've had a couple of people out for estimates and they have told me that a ridge vent wouldn't be necessary. They all suggested installing more vents under the overhangs. My fiance's father tells me that we should have a ridge vent put in do to the increased circulation it would create. However, the roof guys that I've had come out state that with the lack of pitch in my roof (there is a slight pitch) that it wouldn't be necessary.

Washes fine, and sometimes spins, but not always. Only turns slowly on occasions, leaving clothes wet, spins up to full speed other times. It's not overloaded, as tried with half loads etc. Any clues?

This morning we had hot water come out the cold water taps in our bathroom (which is downstairs) upstairs in the kitchen the cold and hot water taps work fine. We had had the emersion heater on overnight to get hot water in the morning as the regular heater was on the blink (it is an eclectic heater as we do not have mains gas) Is there any way to fix this problem, until we get a plumber in.

We have tried running the cold tap untill it turns cold - this does not work.

I replaced my bathroom suite this summer. Already the sealant is cracking and showing gaps. Can I put more sealant over it or do I need to remove the old and replace with new? If I need to remove the old, what is the best way to do it without taking chunks out of the (plastic) bath?
Thanks...

I have small black particles that are mixed into my water. It appears to only come from the hot water side and not the cold. Whatever this is, it seems to stain my bathtub quite easily. It will create a thin black ring around the edge of my tub when filled. I have also noticed, if I ever leave a cup facing up in the dishwasher, that the dishwasher water also has these particles. Does this sound like a hot water heater that is about to die, or do I need to just flush the system? Any help would be appreciated.

My mother has had nothing but problems with her landlord since the day she moved into her rented house. The latest problem is having to do with the water. (which by the way they have had problems in the past about this too) They turned off her water earlier in the day and said they don't know when they will be back to turn it back on. Is there some law protecting renters against stuff like this, shouldn't it be against the law to leave someone without water for days? She is having to come to my house to shower and such, which is a really big inconvience to all of us involved since we live across town from one another. We live in Missouri, and any information reguarding renters rights would be appreciated.
