did something spill that you were unaware of ?? ok No , did you or somebody unwittingly lower or raise the inside temputure , (that knob inside ) , it could be that the frezer temp has dropped a little bit and some ice has thawed and worked down into the fridge bottom , you could have a leak , is there water outside the fridge too?? at the very least it is leaky and not working properly, provided its not just a spill you didnt know about. I think you need to call a small apalince repair guy , it is gonna be nearly impossible to diagnois without being there to look and see ................good luck

Some refrigerators have a damper door in the back of the freezer to regulate thefreezer temp. If the freezer is cold but the fridge is warm, then the damper door may be closed. This would keep all of the cold air in the freezer and not alow much into the fridge. Just put the dial in the middle and it will keep both sections at a reasonable temp.

Could mean that the drain hose is clogged.
Most 'frost free' freezers defrost every now and then and the water drains into the bottom of the refrigerator where it's supposed to drain into a pan under it. If the hose is clogged it'll stay at the bottom instead of draining out.
I wouldn't even begin to tell you how to fix this other than to say call a repair man.

Take all things that may go bad out and let the door proped open 24 hours, or until ice thaws and will no longer be a condensate to the air flow in the food compartment underneath the freezing one. Sometimes the ice build up gets ahead of the defrost system and will not thoroughly disappear in cycle. The worst cause would be the insulation between the two is comprimised by being wet, it happens.

NOT ENOUGH INFO TO BE SURE. POSSIBILITIES ARE: BAD DEFROST HEATERS, BAD DEFROST TERMINATION THERMOSTAT, BAD DEFROST TIMER, DRAIN HOLE IN FREEZER PLUGGED WITH SOMETHING, DRAIN HOLE IN BOTTOM OF REFRIGERATOR COMPARTMENT PLUGGED, DRAIN HOSE GOING INTO BOTTOM PAN UNDERNEATH IS PLUGGED. YOUR MODEL MAY NOT HAVE SOME OF THESE THINGS. LIKE-SOME CARS DON'T HAVE ELECTRIC WINDOW OR DOOR LOCKS, EITHER. NEED TO KNOW MODEL AND BRAND TO ANSWER BETTER. AT ANY RATE YOU NEED TO DEFROST IT VERY GOOD, SINCE THE WATER IN THE FREEZER IS FROZE SOLID PROBABLY. THIS IS A TOP MOUNT FREEZER?
