Terracotta tiles where the water irrigation system has run onto the tiles and left white hard to clean marks......any tips how to get it off? House is in Spain so I would imagine the intense heat has something to do with it.

it sounds like the water has a high mineral content and the stains are caused by the water drying and the minerals being left behind , I think what is going to wirk here is a product called CLR , you can use some CLR mixed with warm water and a good stiff brush to scrub the stains away ....... it may take a little elbow greease to get it perfect , but I havent seen much that the Clr wont clean .. , if you do get it cleaned and looking perfect again then you can use a sealer to seal the tiles so they will repel the water in the future .......good luck

Phosphoric Acid. It's a descaler that removes the minerals that water leaves behind. It has to sit for a while. After removing the marks, you will need to reseal the tiles with parafin sealant, such as floor wax.

Brush on a solution of white vinegar, let it set for 40--60 minutes, brush and wipe off. Faster, try some coffee pot cleaner sold at ware sections of most stores. sounds like typical lime scale.
