You will need to etch the marble a little with a sander or grinder Then buy a epoxy base curing type primer to seal the marble and give you a good surface to apply an industrial epoxy floor paint. consult your local industrial supply center and be sure and ask for the primer that is designed to work and bond to the epoxy paint.
read and follow all directions on the paint can for use of its recommended primer. when your done the epoxy should set up and be as smooth and as hard glass, so you may want to consider a non-slip industrial epoxy coating instead of epoxy paint. If there is any flex at all in the shower base you should consider a non-slip industrial elastameric coating with its recommented primer. It wont crack like epoxy when or if it flexes. Good luck.

I don't know why you would want to since the paint is going to degrade over time and will need to be redone, which won't happen with the "cultured" marble. But, to paint it, sand it well with a medium grade sandpaper to roughen the surface and give it something for the paint to adhere to. Clean the surface thoroughly with TSP (trisodium phosphate) and rinse it thoroughly too. When it's dry, apply and even coat of a good primer and paint over that with two coats of enamel paint. I prefer oil-based enamel to latexes, but that is just a preference. Talk to you local paint stores to find the TSP and to get more information as well recommendations for the paint you will need or want to use.

Good luck.

That stain can be removed, Dont mess up the marble because of it, check at the HomeDepot. I'm trying to remember, I think I cleaned some one time using a 90% water, 10% Muratic acid solution, Muratic acid is used for swimming pools and can be easily bought. Check first though

Why not contact a bath tub refinishing company and have them apply epoxy paint? They prepare it and paint it. They do this kind of work all the time so it will be fast and guaranteed. I believe Sears offers this service.

I don't think so. But you could contact a paint store and ask them.
