It's not hard to clean. Use a dry towel to sop up the water and you won't have stains. They also have some kind of coating to get the shine onto it.
If your first time w/ granite
1. Be sure to know where the seams will be. If its a good company installer, the best place is at the sink. Produces very small seam and the back seam will not be noticeable.
2. Pick out your sink. Usually under mount. Add an inch to its depth to take into account the thickness of the counter.
3. Be sure to align the sink over the center of the sink cabinet. Then mark the holes where you want the faucet etc. Can't move nor change position once drilled.

4. Be sure cabinets are level and wall is flat esp if installing a back splash.

5. You'll save money by buying the sink yourself. We went w/ Blanco. Came with in 3 days and save 100.00

We have Ubatuba gold and love it.

NO if you leave something that spilled on the counter you will see it but wax it regularly and all should wipe off. Stone does stain but with Ubatuba being a dark color you won't notice little things the kids do to it when your not around.
