Remove the plug, on the underside you will find an adjustable screw with a nut at the top. Undo the screw so that it is a bit longer, then tighten the nut at the top. This should solve your problem.

u must be talking about a pop up assembly for a lavatory sink.....if it is not damaged all u have to do is slide the bar back into the pop up(this is the part that goes up and down when the lever is pulled or pushed)...under the sink on the assembly itself(not hte white drain) u will see on the back side where the silver bar goes into the drain. remove the nut that holds it in place. this will lossen up the bar. remove the bar and line up the hole at the bottom of the pop up with the bar. slide the bar into the hole and tighten down the nut...it should work now... if not u will need to replace the pop up or the bar. if this is nessasary take the above steps but replace the bar and pop up with new ones... good luck

omg I thought you were talking about a pop up plug...electrical! which I never heard of! as far as sinks...I HATE THEM! they ALWAYS BREAK. you have to go under the sink, usually something wears out or breaks, and its such a pain to fix or replace it...I usually just bust the old pop up thing out and buy a drain plug for the sink with a strainer cup that sits in the drain...costs about $5 total...not even that

you need to look under the sink, usually to the back, there is normally a wire which hooks on to another hook sort of thing, once you locate you will understand what I am talking about!! just hook up and all should be well, I only know this because it happened to my plug last week!!
