One of the best ways to get rid of fleas in a home is by spraying with a product that contains an active ingredient called; "Methoprene". Methoprene is an insect growth regulator that prevents fleas from maturing and reproducing. (They die before advancing to adults)

You can find it at almost any hardware store and is sold under various names. It's very safe to humans, pets and plants. In fact, methoprene is used commercially to eradicate a variety of pests found on ornamental plants, citrus, avocados and other fruit trees. It's also found in some of the flea control products used on pets. (It's the active ingredient found in "Frontline" used for flea control on pets)

Although it doesn't stop fleas instantly, you'll see a gradual decline within a few days. It does cost a bit more than other products but it's very safe to use on furniture and carpets. I'd recommend you use a spray to control the adult fleas in combination with the methoprene so that your son doesn't suffer in the meantime. Not sure how large your home/apartment is but you probably won't need more than 2 cans. You can simply walk about your home/apartment and spray it on your carpet/furniture with the can pointing upside down.

The best feature about the product is that it prevents re-infestation for up to 6 months!

Hope this was of some help to you and that you get rid of those fleas! GOOD LUCK!

If you are absolutely certain these are flea bites then you really need to nail down a source. Is he playing or staying with somebody that does have an animal? Although in some places the fleas can get so bad outside they will move inside, they need somebody/thing to bring them in. If you have them in the house, then the best step is to call a professional exterminator and explain the trouble. They will come treat your entire house and get rid of them. Don't bother with the fleas sprays at the store, they cost a lot and don't really work if you have a large scale invasion. Meantime, about the only way to keep them off the child is to use an insect repellant- but not for the long term use- just until the exterminator can get in, or you can eliminate whereever they are coming from.

Shawn, hire an exterminator! Spray the house, furniture and the yard! Bag up all of the bedding and wash in very hot water! Find out where the little guy has been playing, too. He might be bringing them into your house. We had a nasty problem with them when I was a kid. It was a horrible experience. Tell everyone in the house to wear white socks after the spraying is done after you're allowed back in. You will see them on the socks if any new eggs hatch. Then have the exterminator back. This may take up to three treatments, be patient it will go away!

The wellbeing meals keep often has some stable organic shampoos and coverings for fleas that are non nerve-racking. My in demand approach is least nerve-racking and can be relaxing on your canines because it will supply him various your undivided interest: %. the fleas off with the aid of hand and drown them in a bowl of water with some drops of dish cleansing soap in it. Our canines might line up for this therapy in the event that they have been given fleas. there is tiny combs on the puppy keep to help with this..very low fee and can be somewhat smart.

go to your hardware get you a bag of 5/10 or 5/15 Severn Dust. take a stocking and put the dust in it. and just dust your carpet really good and let it set for an hour or two take your child out of the house during this time. and when you return just vacuum the carpet thoroughly. and the entrance to your home the same way. this i have used on my dogs for as long as i can remember. and it will kill every insect and spider that is in your house.
