Yes to all. Vinyl siding is the preferred siding to use. It not only has a long life span but is easy to replace when it becomes damaged. It comes in many colors, and with many styles to choose from. The color actually lasts quite along time and some siding is warranted for twenty five years or more. It is in your best interest when ordering siding to also look at the insulation options, I.E. some siding comes foam backed and most doesn't. If the siding is not foam backed then you may want to have the contractor install "Pink" or "Blue" foam at least 1/4" thick. It will increase the "R" value of the home and will save money in heating and cooling costs as well as increase the value of your home. If you have aluminum on your home now, it will have to be removed prior to the new application. In this case you may want to tell the contractor that you would like to keep the old siding so as to recycle it yourself. I do siding from time to time and you can make a bunch of money at your local recycler by taking in your old siding. If you do do that you must make sure that there is no metal or backing on the aluminum. You may also want the contractor to trim all the windows and doors and the soffit and facia. This will also help with insulating and maintainance costs in the future. I hope this helps!

It will depend on a lot of factors.
First--what siding you change to, and how that fits in your neighborhood. Vinyl siding is certainly the most common, but it is not appropriate in all neighborhoods, such as historic homes. If you are replacing with wood lap siding or hardiplank, you'll need to consider the cost, and how much you might save in energy costs. You should know what your house is currently worth, and how much room for increase there is.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And changes you make should be in step with the character of your home and its surroundings.
As for energy efficiency, don't expect to gain a lot just from siding. If you wrap the home in Tyvek, you'll decrease drafts, and that will help. If you put up 1" foam, you'll gain some, but your best energy efficiency gains will come from insulating the walls (in between the studs). An insulation professional can blow insulation into the stud cavities--this type of insulation can pay for itself in a relatively short period of time, and is not dependent on new siding.
Good luck with your decision.

Yes it does all three if you choose the right siding. I have vinyl siding. They put additional insulation up before the siding. It cuts down on maintenance costs also. You don't have to paint all the time. I love it. Looks great!!!!

Maybe, maybe, maybe. Depends on the siding you use. Some people don't think vinyl siding makes it more beautiful.
