I already have the plans, building permit and financing ready to go, but I need a General Contractor who is sober, competent, honest and can start immediately. This is not a hypothetical situation - I need a builder.

Ladies: How does the way I decorated my Victorian apt sound?
Beige walls (not allowed to paint), with a white trim, and burgundy curtains, a plant hanging off a rod on top of the window looking above my television, cherry walnut furniture, a stitched rug with a large golden square etched in a burgundy like trim and also......

What color should my poster frames be? Can they be black? What places sell cheap frames that are gold colored?

And also I have a couch, what color cover should I put on it?

And lastly, my bathroom has powder blue walls with a light white trim. Is it ok if my bath rug and shower curtain are burgundy too?

i am wanting to remodel my teenage daughter room. its a small room, 81/2 wide 13 feet long. we aren't sure of the colors yet need help with that also......maybe aqua blue and brown but what about a design? she likes to hang out with her friends and also they stay the night so finding somewheres to sleep is an issue sometimes. she likes the mirror on the wall to do hair and make up, etc. like any teenage girl. she wants an area loveseat or something to hang out with her friends. she has a dresser and her tv and a twin bed with 3 drawers in the bottom which needs some minor repairs or maybe cut down to make a new bed!!!!!!!!!!!!...not sure what to do. any ideal plans or a website would help alot. we are racking our browns on what to do...........thanks

someone recently bought me a very nice centerpiece bowl from Tiffany & Co. for my first home....problem is, I dunno what the heck to do with it, lol! What table does it go on? How can I best display it? What goes in it, if anything? Thanks.

PS these people are coming over to see the new home soon and I want to have this piece displayed....

here's a pic of it:

I like modern style furniture. I dont like alot of color, just a clean empty look. I've read somewhere it was called "minimalist modern" or something like that. If you've ever seen MTV cribs, the one with Moby is a good idea for what Im going for.

Where are some good websites or books with these type of designs? Im having a hard time finding ways to hide things, etc... to get such a clean look.

Im sure a few of you know what Im talking about.

On a bookshelf in the library they have those things that keep the book from toppling over if there is an empty space on one side or the other. It just holds it up by tucking under the books, along with a wall to hold them up.

I'd like to search ebay, but cant think of the name. I've tried searching for "bookshelf stops" and "bookshelf holder" and cant find them. I'd feel kind of foolish calling up Barnes & Noble or the Library just to ask.

Any ideas?

I think the look of stainless steel appliances makes a kitchen look like a garage or some industrial kitchen. I also find that granite looks like puke.

Am I the only person in the world who thinks this fad is going to be by the wayside like the avocado green, harvest gold and burnt sienna appliances of the 70s?
