Ladies: How does the way I decorated my Victorian apt sound?
Beige walls (not allowed to paint), with a white trim, and burgundy curtains, a plant hanging off a rod on top of the window looking above my television, cherry walnut furniture, a stitched rug with a large golden square etched in a burgundy like trim and also......

What color should my poster frames be? Can they be black? What places sell cheap frames that are gold colored?

And also I have a couch, what color cover should I put on it?

And lastly, my bathroom has powder blue walls with a light white trim. Is it ok if my bath rug and shower curtain are burgundy too?

1] not black - that is traditionally used for dead loved ones. Try cherry or cherry colored wood, or a metal - gold or silver. Be sure they fit victorian theme.
Try chain stores, like Michael's, and onlinestores for cheap frames in brass or cherry.
2] Suggest couch cover in gold, burgundy, beige; or print of any two. Add throw pillows in gold, burgundy or beige also to tie it all together.
3] plants [ ferns would be great ] should be on a stand per Victorian theme.
4] the burgundy curtain and rug will be great with the blue walls. Add some blue, burgundy, or brass [ gold ] accessories [ toothbrush holder, soap dispenser, tissue holder, trash basket ]. If you have counter space, add a small African violet, and a fat candle.
Buy sets of light blue [ wall color ], burgundy [ curtain/rug ], and gold [ accessories ] towel sets.
Congrats! Sounds great!

The colors are good beige, white and burgundy. The carpet sounds nice. Is your furniture modern or victorian? Either could work if the right colors.

Don't put up posters, go to garage sales, flea markets and get some inexpensive but well done paintings. It makes the room warmer and more realistic. Don't put gold color frames on them either. Get inexpensive frames and have them match the furniture.

Lose the plant or go to rummage sales looking for a nice wooden plant stand that can be stratigically placed in the room for light and esthetic value.

Also look at the above named places for some victorian items to place about the room.

Regarding your bathroom, the burgundy may be too dark for the powder blue. Personally I would go with a dark blue and then brighten it up with very colorful towels and accessories, ie whites, yellows, light grey etc.

You will be surprised at your own talents and how warm and inviting your home will be. Have fun and good luck

Sounds like you have a good start.
