I get the 3x6 part, but the 1/2 inch dimension?

hi ...the way i am seeing it is the 1/2" is the thickness...just like a 2x4x8...it's 4" wide....8" long and 2" thick.. same thing..
3 x 6 x 1/2"....???????????????????

It could be the thickness of the banner. Is the banner being made from cloth, or styrofoam, or wood, paper, foam-rubber, or other material where 1/2 thickness isn't necessarily strange?

They could be referring to the width of the lines in the letters.

It means whoever wrote the specifications you are citing flunked English as a Second Language.

They must mean a half inch 'border'.Because it surely wouldn't be a half inch thick.
