My kitchen, hallway and living room adjoin but have no doors. The woodwork in these 3 areas are different colors. How should the woodwork in the entranceways be painted? Where does one paint color stop and the next start esp. in the arch of the openings?? I can't find a picture to refer to in decorating mags.

I saw on www.aquarelle.co.uk that for a bouquet having a diameter of 30 cms one needs 32 roses, for one of 25 cms: 27 roses and for one of 35 cms in diameter 37 roses. I want to use different varieties of flowers instead of roses, but do not know if this proportions will do. How does a professional florist determine the number of flowers vrs. volume proportion when making a bouquet?

We have a huge loft upstairs that I want to make my room and I want my privacy, someone that came by said he couldn't put a door because it is a fire hazard, is this true? Some attics that are rooms have doors at the bottom, why is this any different? If it is true, how can I go around it to add a door or something for some privacy?

My house was built in 1986, about 3000 sqft, 2 story and colonial style.
I noticed some black stains on the roof and was told that it was molding. No leaks(maybe not yet ?) and no shades or tall trees around.
When I got roofers for an estimate, some said it's ok with re-roofing meaning putting new shingles over the exiting ones. Others said they need to take out the old and put down the new shingles.

Can I have your expert advice on this ? Thanks.

There's a house in the neighborhood I desperately want to live in, it's the right size and it's in my price range (while most are WAY too expensive), but it's got a VERY (VERY!!!) tiny kitchen that would be tough (and expensive) to add onto with the roofline, and REALLY dated decor (because it's an old couple moving out.)

Should I buy it anyway??

Would like to decorate some sweatsuits for my 6 year old. Want to do some designs with fabric paint, but need something that is going to last, wash after wash....after wash after wash.....after....well, you get it. Would like some recommendations on what brand or item to use. Also, would be interested if anyone has any history using iron-on transfers-what brands are best, etc. Thanks for any information you have to offer!

My husband and I would really love to change the way our bedroom looks. Our room is a small master's bedroom with a high cathedral ceilling (approx 16 ft.). Our furniture is the outdated (but I love it so much!) bleached oak. What colors would go with that? Something not to stand-outish maybe??

So far, i have painted the living room a dark forest green, which extends into the den. I was actually thinking of adding some accent colors to offset the boldness of the green, maybe with a creamish gold color. My boyfriend wants to use a burgundy maroon as an accent wall. I think that the dark green would clash with the burgundy and that the cream would be a better accent since it would contrast and match with the cream. Any ideas?

I am looking for an on-line site that shows some samples of patterns/colors of countertops for my kitchen. Is there such a website? We live far from the city and I just wanted to get some ideas before I go.

I'm thinking contact paper would be a lot easier to apply than wallpaper...I'm afraid I will just make a big mess if I try to hang wallpaper. And,I do not want to pay to have it done. What do you think?
