Nope, sure haven't. Wallpaper is hard enough to hang and match. Contact paper would be a nightmare. Besides the fact that the texture is all wrong for a wall.

I tried to use it, but its hard to get the bubbles out.
Plus any faults, or bubbles really stand out when they are on a vertical surface.
The other thing that can happen over time is fading.
I know wallpaper can fade too, but contact isnt designed for that purpose, so it tends to fade a lot quicker!
Depending on the area you are covering, I would try using collage paper. You can get big sheets of it, its easy to pattern match, its cheaper, and it has a cool gloss effect.
Also you can use any type of glue!

My Mom has always used plain white contact paper nearby the stove because it's so easy to wipe down.Like if the stove was next to the wall on one side, but not the whole wall. Contact paper works well to line shelves and drawers also.

I have used wall paper to line drawers and cabinets- but not visa versa. Home Depots puts on do it yourself classes- and there are some on line like the DIY network-that is for Do it yourself-one thing about contact paper-the seams and patterns won't match up- D

I've used contact paper and thought it was easier,, and also cleaned up better than wall paper, and not as much mess if you wanted to change it.

Honestly, I really don't think that would work. Wallpaper is out anyways, just paint them really uniquely.
