Depends on many things. Where you live, the size of the wall what is in the wall - electrical, plumbing, is it load bearing etc etc. They will have to re frame the opening , re sheet rock, tape, paint etc., etc. It could cost anywhere from 1,000 to 7.000 dollars!
We've had estimates like that and they are totally ridiculous!
Get a bunch of estimates and make sure they know what they are doing. Get references also. Good luck

Labor rates and job specifics vary so widely, from region to region, that it is impossible to give you a generic number. I'm a home remodeling contractor in Boston,MA. My labor costs are much higher than in other areas, because the local economy is so strong.
Also, permit costs vary, from town to town. Finally, I don't have enough information to cost your job. Is there off road parking? Is your home easy to get to, or is traffic congested? Is the wall load-bearing? What about the floor that gets exposed? Is it hardwood or something else? What about the ceiling and wall finish, after the demo? Do you need to plaster the area? How big a wall is coming out? Do I need a dumpster?
All these things affect the time and materials it will take to do your job. The only way to know is to get quotes from competing sources.
