Divide the trousers into three parts.
1.Prepare shorts with the upper part of the trousers.
2.Now we are left with two legs of the trousers....make two aprons-open each leg by undoing the stitches and make a plane .Cut a straight apron and stitch a pocket with bright coloured checkered cloth.Make piping and strings to tie with the same cloth.Smilarly make other apron. You can use these aprons while cooking, washing utensils or gardening. I hope you like my idea...Bye

I made a purse out of my husbands old jeans.
You can make patchwork. You can cut them into strips sew the strips together and braid them to make a rug. And your question gave me an idea for a salable item I can make. Use your imagination!

if you want to use yourself, if the waist/hip is ok, make it as a shorts and use it at home or on vacation.
Or make it a vintage look , making some raw edges and cuts and use them. or make some cross stitiches / bartacks / zigzags....wash it.....
