Decorating & Remodeling - September 2006

The estate agent we have has not even sent anybody round to see it in a month, what do we do. I don't mind if someone comes round and doesn't like it, but having no-one round at all!! I know everyone will say change agents, but any other suggestions.

I have steam heat in my house built in 1924 and it has the large radiators throughout the house. I am thinking of changing to hotwater baseboards. Can they heat an entire house? Are the cost effective? Any help would be appreciated.

I need advice on redecorating my room at my dads new house it has previously been a little girls room and now needs to be a 13 year old lads room on a budget of £50 I have a desk, bed, 2 shelves and wardrobesand want to give them a makeover within my dads boundrys-also is lighting a good way to go i had an idea with red and blue spot lihts shining up the wall.

If it helps I like modern and funky like lighting-wanted to paint flames but not allowed

We are thinking of going very neutral, in all the rooms, except the kitchen, so what color do most builders use? We are going with white trim, and doors. I was thinking of a taupe, so if any one out there has a good brand and color of paint, I'd appreciate it very much!

I have just bought an African Grey parrot. The cage is large but must go in my livingroom as it is the area that gets he most traffic in my home. My furniture is leather, there is a fireplace and I Grandfather clock in the room. I have the perfect wall for it, but I don't want it to look obtrusive. Any suggestions?

I'm having granite countertops installed and cabinets sanded and re-stained. I have no contract, the job which was supposed to take 2 wks is over 6 wks now, My kitchen (and most of the downstairs)has been as mess this whole time. his workmanship is poor, he's constantly lying, the constantly takes off to do who knows what.
