I think you pay a little extra for the name. I found Berkline recliners to be more comfortable. Find a furniture store that will let you test display models as long as you want. Visit more than once. Buy the most comfortable chair in your price range.

Lazy Boy is not the same company in terms of quality it was 20 years ago. Their sofas can be very flimsy and upholstery poorly applied.
Our last purchase was a SteelFlex. Much better quality.

They don't seem that bad. I like Ashley furniture. I think theirs are more comfortable. Plus the saleslady there said they (Ashley) make all the furniture frames and don't send out to make them. Lazy Boy & other companies do. That's how Ashley Furniture can afford to sell them cheaper. They are nicely made too.

Our lazy boy recliner sofa broke as soon as the warranty ran out on it.

They're a lot better than they were years ago as they now have some designers working for them - Todd Oldham I believe is their best one.
A friend bought one - it was expensive - and frankly it's really ugly too. And it broke as soon as it arrived.

From the ones that I have seen they are very over-priced. I believe you are paying for the name.
