I think Lowe's has come on strong. They seem to have better selection and better prices all in all. Their tool selection is easier to shop in, and bigger and more comprehensive. I basically to go HD when I am in a hurry, because where I live it is a little closer.

I like Lowes a bit better. For one thing, Lowes stores are usually less messy than Home Depot.

no doubt ... Lowe's. They have more of a selection and better quality things. I get everything for the house from Lowe's, I only shop and home depot if i need something quick to fix a problem.

I look at both for my Home Renovation Supplies -- sometimes Lowes has things that Home Depot does not, and sometimes Home Depot has things that Lowes does not -- so it is a toss-up. BOTH price match -- so I make sure I read both ads when I am looking for a particular thing.

Really a difficult question, their both good, it it depends on what your working on, the depot supplies more of a builders line of materials, while Lowes carries more for the homeowner who is 'upgrading' So if your building a house you want to go to the Depot and if your redoing your bath or kitchen you want to go to Lowes. You'll notice theirs not to much of the exact same goods each sells the Depot has more Lumber and Lowes has more Appliances

Lowe's for better quality, Home Depot if you want to get cheaper items.
For example if you want a faucet for your bathroom go to lowes, if you want a cheap one for a rental property go to home depot.

They are both exactly the same both sell different brands both charge more for selected items, the only real difference is for contractors home depot has more services for contractors and a bigger line of new construction products, Lowes has more selection in certain lighting and plumping fixtures
