I'm trying to find a way to make it look wider. Any ideas?

Yes. Use darker colors to paint the longer walls, lighter to paint the shorter walls... you can use colors in the same shade (deeper/lighter blue) or contrasting (blue/yellow). In my opinion, the latter is most distracting the eye from the actual physical proportion, and is most interesting. I would choose a lacquer (shiny finish), as it is most resistant in humidity and easier to clean. If you have a window, use oil paint - it stinks, but it holds up beautifully.

Test it in a shoe-box!!! you'll see.

If you really want to make it look wider, paint horizontal stripes on the walls for an illusion of more space. Mirrors are also a good idea.

Use full wall mirrors. The room will look twice as wide.

yea, but cozier.

the use of mirrors would definitely help....and lighter colors, just like dressing yourself...the darker the color the smaller you look.
