I was wondering if there are student interior decorators who will do some designs for a small fee which they can use for their portfolio. How much do most students ask for? I'm thinking of asking for a designer's help but can't afford the high professional fees.

I'm moving into a new loft and it has very high ceilings. I'd like to find a HUGE (preferably black and white) photo, print, or advertisement to take up an entire wall. The print would need to be 6' x 8' or larger. I know they occasionally have huge Victoria's Secret ads in the stores, and it'd be cool to find one of these, but really anything large and cool would be great.

I had the chimney repointed three years ago when it caused a damp patch on our bedroom wall and then repapered and emulsioned over it.The problem reoccurred but after having the brickwork spayed with a water repellent the damp patch has dried out leaving a water mark and a few black marks. Can I just paint over this or will their be mould growth.

We're about to put a red metal roof on our house. The red is nearer to a rust color than a true red. The house is a cottage style, half grey stone and half white siding. The door is a medium pink right now, so I'm not afraid of color.

I have a 3 year old who is potty training and a one year old and I'm wondering if there is a couch that you can buy to where things don't fall through the cracks beneath the cushions and where throw up wouldn't leak to the floor and stain it and where you can wipe it clean and it's comfortable enough for my mother in law to enjoy. A couch that is easy to clean and is well made. I mean my 3 year old pulled a piece of wood off the side of our couch and the couch is only like 5 years old. I want to replace it but don't want to if there is no couch out there that can make life easier. Should I go for solid stainless steel?

My parents bought a new house and they have a really ugly tile countertop in their bathroom. It is peach color. They plan on remodeling it but it will be awhile. They need to paint and so what would you recommend?
