I am getting info for building my first new home. I was wondering if anybody has info regarding framing interior non-load bearing walls with metal studs vs wood.

wood studs are a lot easier to work with.Think about hanging drywall, kitchen cabinets, door and window trim etc..... on metal studs.Pain in the butt to nail into.
The ONLY advantage metal studs have,is their fireproof.
Good Luck with the new house!

not a problem, but u will need more tools and having to change from wood to metal u will waste time. plus in wood framing u will have lots of blocks and small scraps that u can use as dead wood and back framing. if u have interior studs u just wasted these blocks and short boards. adds up fast.

if you wanted to hang pictures, metal causes a slight problem. In the K.C. area metal is more expensive but doesn't warp. Both are as easy as the next to remodel . Metal does make it harder to install wood cased doors and trim, that most people like in their homes. Good Luck
