What color should I paint my front door and shutters?

We're about to put a red metal roof on our house. The red is nearer to a rust color than a true red. The house is a cottage style, half grey stone and half white siding. The door is a medium pink right now, so I'm not afraid of color.

You could try using the same redish color as the roof. Try Using the red color of the roof for trim around the door/windows, and painting the door and shutters a deep blue? I would go for some dark color for the door.

Since you asked, I think you should go with some form of red for the front door, something
that blends with the roof, and the shutters would
probably look good in black. Make a colored
drawing and see what you think.

Paint it a glossy rusty red color. It will pop!

You could:

1) scrape of the paint and paint it with glossy wood paint

2) paint them pastel colors, like pastel green

3) paint them brown
