What color goes with peach?

Question

My parents bought a new house and they have a really ugly tile countertop in their bathroom. It is peach color. They plan on remodeling it but it will be awhile. They need to paint and so what would you recommend?

Sometimes the best way to handle a situation is to try and make the most of it. I would suggest bringing home some paint chips and try to match the color as closely as possible then paint the walls in a shade lighter than the tile. Since they're planning to remodel anyway, paint the existing cabinetry and trim in white . Although sage or another silvery green color would work well used sparingly. Fill a large container with rolled towels in the white and green solids, and maybe a piece of wall art that picks up both colors . For the most part, I would emphasize the white in candles, soaps, rug, shower and window coverings. You could change the look quite a bit by replacing the towel and tissue holders now to give it a more updated look. The brushed nickel bath accessories would looks really good with possibly a large mirror framed in a matching finish. The idea is to make this an attractive and comfortable space with the intention of being able to use most of the decorative items when the remodeling project is completed. To give it a more modern look I would go with a bright orange color in a medium tone on the walls. Make sure to paint all your trim and ceiling a bright white. What color is the vanity? If you are going to remodel, I suggest you could paint it white. The white gives it a clean look and neutralizes all the color. Brown tones pick up the warmth of the peach color. Not an ugly putrid dark or greenish brown though. More of a light cocoa a warm color. I would suggest that you go to a specialty paint store and bring something with the peach color on it. Compare a few swatches and ask for their suggestions. Yellow and pink are nice touches. I'd recommend a light chocolate brown and some floral touches that blend yellow, peach and pink. You have to get colors within the same color palatte as the peach - otherwise it will end up totally tacky. That's where a paint store can help. I wouldn't recommend going to Walmart and just having them mix something you guessed on.

A cream color would go best with that tile. Also try painting one wall opposite of the counters a peach color... this way you incorporate everything. Also.. a cream is a bit plain.. so that would brighten things up. Also, try adding a 3rd color for contrast. You can accessorize with earth tones and even with light olive colors...

White will give it a classis look. Try blue and chocolate brown-as far as the blue tones go get a colour wheel and look at the postion of colours on it. Find a paint store with a good reputation for customer service and interior design/decorating with large colour samples that you can take home and choose. Don't forget to view your sample in the room you want to paint and look at it during different times of day- in different light. Good Luck!

I would just do white - I know it sounds bland but... I have visions of the 80's with the desert colors of light blue, peach and yellow.

Another answer would be (now that I look at my color wheel), you could go monochromatic (varying shades of orange), complimentary (depending on the shade of peach - greens to blues), triadic (greens and purples), analogous (reds and oranges), etc... Pick up a color wheel at your local paint store. Ususally there will be suggestions on how to choose complementing colors. But like I said...I would go with white!

A nice light shade of green would go nicely with peach countertops in a bathroom. (I also like Carribean blue with peach in clothing, but that's different)

Ivory will work.....if you match the peach colour to a paint card, and then look at ALL the colours on the same line, the same spectrum of the colour wheel it will help greatly, but I think I would use an Ivory type colour...

We used a sand color and steely blue with our ugly peach tile in our guest room and they go well together
