Put some grit in the paint (I have heard that sand works).

You can put sand on the final coat but the sand can break loose over time and you will be constantly sweeping sand. Try putting it down before the final coat and after it dries appy a final coat to seal in the sand.

DO NOT mix sand in it if you are using in your home,, the sand will break and scrape off causing you plenty cleaning,, there is a little bag of stuff you can buy to mix in the paint that will make it non-slippery,, i got mine at wal-mart and used it on my handicap deck!!!

I think I heard somewhere you can put sand in the paint, but don't quote me on that. Check with your local paint store.

Go to your hardware store and ask for some antislip...it is grains of sand that you sprinkle on after painting
