Do you use a home ultrasonic jewelry cleaner? Any recommendations for those in the $35 range? Are they worth it or is soap, water and a toothbrush just as good?

I just started using all different types of cleaning cloths, pre moisened for all uses. Some for the furniture , some for leather, some for all glass. I like using them better than the spray bottles. What do you like to use when cleaning the house?

I recently bought two cast iron skillets at an auction. They weren't taken really great care of, but they look pretty good. How can I clean them to use them?

Something went wrong with my washing machine it will only suck water through the cold side, hence, i can only wash with cold water. I expect to get it fixed soon but until then what laundry detergant would be the best for just cold water, does oxyclean still work in cold water? My b/fs work jeans are not comming clean since the hot water is gone...... Thanks for your help~!

i was thinking of buying one of those plug in glade air fresheners, i wondered do they actually smell the room out nice, some of those gel type ones u leave around the home ,only smell when your nose is right up close to them.
we keep a indoor rabbit and need something to mask the rabit smell, we clean it out regularly as well but its still paranoia when guests visit that it may smell.
other then opening windows as well whats the best way to stop oder in homes too.

A friend put some regular dish soap into my dishwasher and now the thing is over sudding. I took all the dishes out and cleaned them, but there is still a resovior of water that is very soap rich and I am having a hard time draining that water (I did as best as I can manually and its not draining anymore on its own - but what is left has alot of the regular dish soap in there).

Is there any "home-made" remedy to de-sud the soapy water? I thought of the solutions made for hot tubs, carpet cleaning, etc - but is there any home remedy that would work? I tried salt - didnt make a difference. Anyone with any ideas on what to do? Anytime I turn the dishwasher on - it just starts to mix with the soapy water (even tho there isnt that much left).

Thanks in advance.

My wife needs help hemming her dress pants. She wears them with heels and flats, and we cant agree on a length. When she wears them with open-back shows they tend to get under her feet. What is a good general length? I have heard with heels they should be to where the heel meets the sole. But that would make them too long for flats, right? HELP!

I have a hollister hoodie, and it is about 2 sizes too big. (I guess I lost some weight haha)
I need it to be small.
its 60% cotton and 40%polyester
is there any other way to make it shrink except washing it hot and drying it hot?

I don't know why, but cleaning brings out the WORST in me. I know I have to do it to live in a clean environment, but I go from cheerful and ambitious to being angry, FRUSTRATED, and bored.

How do you make cleaning a more fulfilling, pleasant task? Music helps somewhat, and I clean late at night, because it's depressing to be in the house during the day.

I get fatigued easily, so any ideas to remedy that while doing physical work?

Any innovative ideas? I'm such a damn slob (TRUST ME), so anyone on the planet is an acceptable "housecleaning" authority to me. =P

I know that bleach can disinfect whites, but how can I disinfect my colors? I looked at Clorox 2 but it says it doesn't disinfect just brightens. What do you think about Borax? Will that disinfect colors?

OMG, I finally found a product that really, really works to actually get rid of the fish odor in fridge and bad smelling ice in freezer. I've tried baking soda, lemons, and just about everything else. You've got to try this - FRIDGE IT odor absorbers. It's a little purple cube odor absorber and IT REALLY WORKS.
Does anyone know if I can use for other areas too. Got a litter box that I'm thinking of trying it with?

I need to find a weekly housecleaning checklist. I've searched the web and can't seem to find one, mostly springcleaning lists. Does anyone have a list they can provide, one that would be suitable for a maid or weekly helper? Thank you.

I just moved and I have a small room. I can only fit my bed and dresser in here. I don't have a closet which means all my clothes are on the floor. I clean it every weekend and I usually need a trashbag to do it.. I don't like living like this. I have no idea how I keep trashing it but theres clothes+empty soda cans and paper on the floor and on my dresser.. It's disgusting.
What can I do to keep myself from trashing my room???
