Goo-gone is the best product I've found to remove adhesives cleanly without discoloring surfaces (though nail polish will work, sometimes it removes the finish as well.)

Of course, you can use a commercial preparation like Goo Gone.
However, a little known secret...
You can accomplish the same thing with regular old vegetable oil. You need to scratch off the label as best you can then soak the label, let it sit for a few minutes then rub it off. It might take a couple of applications but it works in a pinch! :)
Good Luck!

Saturate labels with Undiluted White Vinegar allow to soak for about five to ten minutes then just peel off
Or you can use Hair conditioner saturate label with hair conditioner then just peel off and then scrub with a nylon scubber or a little baking soda and rinse then wash with some dishwashing detergent diluted with some warm water and a little vinegar added to the dishwashing liquid to help facilitate the rinsing of the dishwashing liquid then just rinse with warm water and dry when being used on glass surfaces
There is also a product called Goo Gone it is very good for removing decals and labels but expensive
WD-40 spray can be used to remove labels and decals but must be washed with detergent and water after removal of label or decal
Good Luck !

COOKING OIL!!!! Honest, cooking oil removes almost any type of adhesive known to moms. Sometimes it needs to be rubbed in well or let to sit and soak in, but it rarely fails to remove 'stickum' of any sort. You then use plain old dish soap to remove the cooking oil. It's a much safer combo for plastic bottles than some of those solvents! Some of them eat plastic......

Sounds like Goo-Gone is a good product, and I know vegetable oil works most of the time. But for a really tough, sticky mess, tea tree oil will make it slide right off, immediately.

My wife is a hard-core crafter, and has this stuff called Goo-Gone. It un-does any kind of adhesive! It's inexpensive, cleans easy, and can be found at any craft store like Michael's.

I soak mine in really hot water. Or you can use alcohol to remove the sticky film.

Use naptha -- it's lighter fluid. It works perfectly and leaves no residue. I used it all the time to remove stickers and price tags from book pages.
