I just moved and I have a small room. I can only fit my bed and dresser in here. I don't have a closet which means all my clothes are on the floor. I clean it every weekend and I usually need a trashbag to do it.. I don't like living like this. I have no idea how I keep trashing it but theres clothes+empty soda cans and paper on the floor and on my dresser.. It's disgusting.
What can I do to keep myself from trashing my room???

if you open it....shut it
if you drop it.....pick it up
if you turn it on....turn it off
if you pull something out...put it back up
if you empty it....refill it....or throw it away
if it's dirty....clean it
if you use it.....flush it
And so on!

You need to find a way to hang your clothes up first ... even if you just put up a 'coat rack' (or five) and hang the hangers from there. Second, get a good 'trash can' and ALWAYS put the trash in there. Use a trash bag as 'liner' so when it's full all you have to do is take it up and tie it and put a new one in, then set it by the door (inside or out) and drop it into the garbage can when you go out.
You are correct ... it is MUCH HARDER to keep a 'small room' clean than a larger one, because it's usually the 'same amount of stuff' crammed into a smaller space.
There's another 'trick' you can use ... hang shelves on the wall, just above the top of your head, and you can keep your books, papers, and 'decorative items' there ... and if you can, you may hang several shelves 'all the way to the ceiling' and sort your stuff according to use ... the stuff you don't use often goes on the top shelves, the stuff you use regularly goes on the bottom. You can even use a wall hung shelf as a 'night stand' so your dresser can be used for 'storage' too. Think boxes and baskets to 'hold stuff' too, and your room should be 'neat and clean' every morning when you wake up.

There should be room for a trash can, so use one! Throw your junk in the trash can and change it when it fills up. But dang, no closet? That's what your dressers for right? Get a laundry bag for all your dirty clothes, and get one of those organizers that can hang over the door to put the stuff you wanna wear again, shoes, etc. And if there's room under your bed then that's all te better. get one of those storage containers, those clear ones. and keep clutter in there instead of littering your walk space/floor. Don't be a lazyass :D A clean room will smell much nicer than a trashy one!

First thing, stop eating in your room. Not only are you trashing it, but you could be causing a bug problem.

Second thing, get a foldable or portable clothes closet. I had one when I first got married. They should be sold in home stores, and there is a rack inside where you can hang your clothes. Get some hangers too.

Thirdly, get organized. Have a friend come over and help you with this one. Get some boxes from Staples or Home Depot, and organize your stuff into three piles, what you want to get rid of, what you want to keep and what you want to give away. For the stuff you want to keep, find a place for it, and keep it there.

Maybe if you rearrange your bed and your dresser, it will seem like there's more room in there, but when you get yourself organized, you should have a happier life. Find books in the library or a bookstore on getting organized. Look for one specific book, Confessions of an Organized Housewife. Good luck.

You could put your clothes in a suitcase & keep some of your clothes in there, easy to pull out and push under the bed. If you spend 15 min´s a day organizing thing´s it won´t look so bad. Also a small waste paper bin wont take up much room . Fix a couple of hook´s on the back of your bed room door , hang your clothes on hangers , Many thing´s you can do to make yout room look better if you use your imagination

My room too is pretty small but its quite tidy.

Why not get a drawer that goes under your bed for your clothes? That way they are out of the way - nice and tidy and not taking up the space you don't have.

A small bin would be a good idea! I have a teeny tiny one from Tesco which fits loads in! When its full its a simple trip downstairs to chuck it all out.

First you need to grow up and start picking up after yourself. Next, you should install some shelves that you can put your folded laundry on...(if they don't all fit in the dresser)Keep an air freshener in the room...
Get a laundry hamper to throw the dirty clothes in...Make your bed every morning...makes a big difference..

Nothing much just keep cleaning it every week. Some people are just like that. Me included. You got me beat in the once a week cleaning. Also look for under bed storage bins. They help out a ton in holding extra's and hiding them.

Ruthlessly de-clutter. never purchase something new without removing some thing previous. no longer having a closet is a difficulty. Ikea has some positive, scaled down wardrobes and dressers that would artwork for you. Use hooks and occasional-fee cord shelving. Make a place for each thing and shop each thing in its place.

put a small trash can beside your bed and put your soda cans and other small trash in there as soon as you are done drinking, eating, etc. Get a laundry basket and put your dirty clothes in everyday.

try not to be lazy and be organized :)

I have the same problem. It is always getting out of hand no matter how clean I try to keep it. But what I do is that I always act like my grandmother, A NEAT FREAK!!!!!!!. If I see one little thing out of hand or out of place then I just clean it up. It's been working for years.
