i was thinking of buying one of those plug in glade air fresheners, i wondered do they actually smell the room out nice, some of those gel type ones u leave around the home ,only smell when your nose is right up close to them.
we keep a indoor rabbit and need something to mask the rabit smell, we clean it out regularly as well but its still paranoia when guests visit that it may smell.
other then opening windows as well whats the best way to stop oder in homes too.

they use the electricity to heat up to get the smell to move around the house/room.
they also use it if they are those chaging fregrants ones.

they do work but the ones my mum gets for the house give me headaches becase they smell too strong.

but aye use them but not all the time.

We also have an indoor rabbit so can understand the paranoia. We have tried all the plug in airfreshers and were not that impressed.

We have now bought 3 candle/wax burners and put them at different parts of the house ie livingroom, bathroom, hallway. We buy 3 matching candles/pats to burn from yankee candle (3 for £2.50ish) as they seem to be the strongest and light all three at the same time once a day leaving all internal doors open. Just keep using them for a week/half before you need to replace them.

Everyone that comes in the flat now does not even notice we have an indoor rabbit and comments on how lovely the house smells everytime they come in.

Yes they do work, but not as well as the stuff you spray your self.
I have a kitten, (a smelly kitten)! It uses the litter tray , and the litter is changed every day!
I have tried this plug in thing, they maybe work for a short while!! Have you seen the price of these things, plus the warnings re not leaving on 24 hours a day in case they burst into flames? Not very nice is it?
I found they hand spray stuff a lot better and a lot cheaper, but still expensive, if your lucky and shop around you can get one for £1, it will last a couple of weeks and do the same job.
Then we had a new ASDA supermarket which sold their 'own brand' hand spray stuff does the same job, and I like the smell, one can lasts a couple of weeks and only costs 30p, so I suggest you get stocked up with that.
Tesco do a similar ,'home band' slightly dearer.
Give it a go, and good luck.
Do not spray directly onto bunny, keep the hand spray aerosol well out of it's way.

Try keeping a bowl of vinegar near the rabbit hutch as vinegar is a natural deodorizer. Also put a spoonful of bicarb of soda in the water when you're washing the rabbit hutch as that will keep it fresher. Adding manufactured smells to the brew will mask bad smells, but they'll still be there underneath and make the house smell sickly.

Also - be aware that you get used to smells so even if you can't smell the air freshners, your guests may feel assualted by the smell of them! I always notice this when I have lilies in the house as I get used to them until I go out and get knocked over by the sweet smell when I get back!

Yes they do work quite well, I've got one that has 3 chambers of different smells and it changes automatically from one to the other. Some of the other plug ins give me a headache. Even if you do use one you wouldn't leave it plugged in all the time just when someone was coming or when you were cooking onions or something. Bye the way have you tried candles and incense cones, they are good and instant.

How Do Air Fresheners Work

Febreeze has a plug in air freshner that is awsome. I always have guest ask us how we keep our home smelling so fresh. (we have 3 animals in the house) they work great and they make 3 or 4 different scents. they are about 6.00 a piece but they work so good. They aalso make the spray in the same scents so you can also spray some right before you guest come over.

Most plug in's are full of harmful chemicals, which can agravate asthma, and allergies, but I use one by Yankee Candles, which is natural and lasts longer than the Glade ones, it comes in "clean cotton" scent, and it smells gorgeous. They are a bit more expensive, but they keep their smell longer. I also burn Yankee Candles, which come in many different smells. The plug in does use a small amount of electricity.

I find the Airwick Freshmatic to be more effective. It workd off a battery, and is expensive on first purchase but the refills are quite cheap. You can set it to spray every 9, 18 or 36 minutes, and there is a button to press for a quick burst if needed. They smell really nice without being too overpowering.

Just tape a battery onto an empty Jose Cuervo bottle and you are good. Tell him you need to go get a refill at lunch to keep the workplace smelling fresh.
