I used a pet stain removal solution, but now I am left with a yellow ring around the perimeter of the stain.

i steam clean mine with the upholstry attachment on carpet cleaner.if you don't have one you can rent one ..........it will look like new when you are done

Take a damp cleaning cloth and rub it with regular hand soap, the kind you use in the shower will do fine, scrub the area, the put towels on it and pound out the excess water. It will take the ring away and the extra moisture.

try a "steam clean" vacuum with the upholstery attachment. If you have pets, it might pay to buy a good carpet cleaner with the upholstery attachments. Saves the hassle of renting.

Try a paste of oxy-clean, and let it sit and dry. Then brush it off.

do a search on ebay using the following "source" this stuff works great. got everything off of my hardwood floors and carpeting.
