Something went wrong with my washing machine it will only suck water through the cold side, hence, i can only wash with cold water. I expect to get it fixed soon but until then what laundry detergant would be the best for just cold water, does oxyclean still work in cold water? My b/fs work jeans are not comming clean since the hot water is gone...... Thanks for your help~!

The best detergent to use in cold water is liquid. Don't use any powder types as they won't dissolve fully and you may have a residue left on the clothing!
Tide Coldwater is just a marketing ploy to get people to pay more. I wash all my dark clothing in cold water.....sheets and towels go in warm. I never use hot water.
You could add 1/2 C. White vinegar to the rinse cycle, that will help get rid of any remaining soap and odor from the work clothes.

Get 20 Mule Team Borax, found in the laundry section with the bleach alternative, and mix it in a small bowl with warm water, then dump into washer. This will deoderize and brighten every load you put it in. You can dissolve oxyclean the same way, I used to use oxy clean but I prefer the look with the 20 Mule Team Borax better! (You can also use 20 Mule... with bleach if needed and you can't use oxy clean with anything but laundry soap.)

What you can do is heat up some water and put whatever laundry detergent you have in a container and stir or shake until it is completely dissolved then add this to the laundry.

Tide makes a detergent that is for cold water only, its just called tide coldwater,the front i blue but the bottle is still orange.

Good god, just hook up the cold hose to the hot faucet.
Why can't people solve basic problems? Life must be a mystery to them.

I use Purex unscented w/ bleach.
I wash in cold/ rinse in warm...
