Oh My God! I just found last night that I am having this problem as well. I have a huge dampness problem in my apartment. We live right on the water and on a very humid island so we tend to get an abundance of mold growth to begin with, but this is a whole new level. I went to grab a pair of shoes that I was storing in a closet and found most of my shoes covered in a nasty layer of green fuzz. I have been doing some research online and found some people suggesting a bath in diluted vinegar for leather shoes followed by a gentle scrub with a nail brush. I am going to give that a try.
People were also suggesting getting something called Dry Aid to help dry out the damp areas. I am thinking about picking this item up if I can find it. I might just have to get a dehumidifier for my closet, what a bummer :(

Good luck with your problem!

Heard of this expression, has never happened to me, where would you get mold on your shoes??. I have walked all over Italy, Switzerland, France, Spain, Greece, England, Portugal, Indonesia, Asia, Australia, never has happened to me all the 20,000 people and more that I know.

bleach will remove mold. combine bleach/water, be careful not to use to much bleach or it will ruin the shoe.

Scrub with hot soapy water. Then spray with Fabreeze to get rid of the smell.
