Cleaning & Laundry - September 2007

I have a Bissell Little Green Clean Machine and I'm wondering how to make the solution that I would put in the vac to clean up any stain on the carpet. Any ideas?

I have kept mine in the hall closet but now winter is near and people will have their coats in the closet.. I put into the garage for now.. Not sure if it will warp it or the belt being the weather changing and all??

i recently bought a vinyl and cd off ebay and they absolutely reek of stale smoke. is there any way of getting the smell out?

We have a front load washing machine and when we put a load of towels in they come out stinking! So we rewash them again and they still smell a little bit. So we tried putting a smaller load of towels in and it still didn't work. But if we mix like a few white towels with white clothes it comes out clean. What could be causing this? Any suggestions?

I tend to get hot at night. So if I get really high quality thread count sheets won't they be hot and uncomforatble. But I don't want really cheap sheets either. And if I get low thread count egyptian cotton is it the same as getting high count regular cotton?

Recently there was a pipe leakage on the sapartment on top of us which bursted my husbands three valuable jerseys. They happen to be white unfortunately:( I think they are ruined but want to know if theres a way to save them. I don't want to bleach them because im scared they will turn yellow. When you have a 100% cotton shirt ( or so it says on the back of the abercrombie shirt) and its just the right size, when you wash it, does it shrink? Because I really dont want my shirt to shrink. What can I do to prevent shrinkage?

How do I clean the inside of my cap? I mean the "band"/"strap" thing that holds to your head. It is supposed to be white, but after wearing it for awhile I have sweat and it turned it yellowish. I want to know how to clean it? I heard toothpaste works?

So I have a problem with a lot of my skin tight athletic apparel..Under Armour, Nike Pro Gear...etc..even after washing it retains the nasty BO smell. My other athletic tank tops and shorts do not have this problem, but only the rash guard type stuff. I've tried spraying it with febreeze, using febreeze wash, sticking it in the freezer...and it somewhat gets the smell out but the second it's worn and gets warm (and a little sweat into it)..it's back to horrible BO smell again...again my other work out clothing doesn't get like that. Any ideas what I can do (I have not tried dunking it in bleach for fear of fading the clothing)...and would prefer not having to buy a new top or two cus it's expensive. Thanks. If it matters I use the underarmour gear for submission grappling/wrestling.

Or fruit flies or something? I left a lemon rind on the counter when I was gone over the weekend. I came home to a few bugs. I threw away the lemon and took out the trash. But now the bugs are everywhere: the cat box, the garbage can, the sink. Yikes. What can I do? It's gross.

My dog vomited all over the back seat yesterday after getting into an entire package of butter that was dropped out of the grocery bag while bringing in the groceries.

The dog is fine, the car seat looks fine, but the smell is horrendous. I used carpet cleaner on it yesterday. HELP!!
