I tend to get hot at night. So if I get really high quality thread count sheets won't they be hot and uncomforatble. But I don't want really cheap sheets either. And if I get low thread count egyptian cotton is it the same as getting high count regular cotton?

First, Egyptian cotton is very expensive and thicker weave count than cotton weave count Egyptian cotton will last much longer than low to medium cotton Egyptian cotton is best suited to cooler weather seasons, low thread count egyptian cotton is a little less expensive but quality is still the same it is just that is is less thicker than the higher cotton base egyptian cotton If you buy any thread count in Egyptian cotton you will be buying high quality sheets Good Luck !

I have bought the expensive egyptian sheets and don't care for them. To me, they are full of wrinkles and very soft. I prefer percale sheets of 300 thread count. They dry well and are not wrinkled badly. They feel more crisp. Good luck.

No it isn't the same. Anything less than 300 tc will "pill" and wear out more quickly. Overstock.com has great deals. (I bought 660 Egyptian cotton, queen size $60.)
