Or fruit flies or something? I left a lemon rind on the counter when I was gone over the weekend. I came home to a few bugs. I threw away the lemon and took out the trash. But now the bugs are everywhere: the cat box, the garbage can, the sink. Yikes. What can I do? It's gross.

Go to lowe's home depot wal mart. They sell Fly bags, they are a plastic back about an 8 x7 you cut the top plastic off pull up the lid pop the attractent inside and fill to the dotted line with water, any flying bugs, flys, gnats, mosquitos etc, fly into the bag but they cannot fly out. just hang it in the corner a few days and they will be gone. Toss the bag and no mess

This tip has won BEST ANSWER 9 times in the last two weeks!!!

Take a plastic 16 ounce cup or straight sided glass tumbler and fill it with 1/2" of BROWN Apple Cider Vinegar (White Distilled Vinegar will NOT work..Only the Brown)..then add just 3 drops of ANY liquid dish washing detergent. Do not stir the detergent/vinegar...Set the cup or glass in the room where you left the fruit that was rotten and do not touch it for 24 hrs.The Gnats/Fruit Flies are attracted to the Apple smell of the vinegar..fly in the glass to investigate..then they drown in the vinegar /soap liquid..Simple..No Muss No Fuss...No Chemicals..It will start to work in a very short time....Leave the glass and contents in the same spot for 24-48 hours and you will be absolutely AMAZED at how many of the little Buggers you will catch.Try it..I promise you this will work.I've done this myself and recommend it to everyone with a Gnat/Fruit Fly problem......I have literally caught hundreds in a few short hours with this! Please let me know how it worked for you...

PLEASE NOTE* If in fact they are Fruit Flies the Adults lay 100's of eggs at a time. The babies hatch and grow into Adult Flies in just 15 days!!! They will get much worse if not stopped quickly. Make sure the area where the rotten fruit is claen with no fruit residue left. This will guarentee the Fruit Flies/Gnats will go directly to the Vinegar...

You can do this in multiple locations throughout your house at the same time....

Keep every thing clean. Keep all foods in the fridge.
Place a small bowl or jar top of white vinegar in each room.
