I have recently purchased several irons for my wife. None of them get hot like the old one she had. They are all steam irons and have the nonstick plate. Has anyone else had this problem? I have tried GE, Black and Decker, and Sunbeam. None of them get hot enough to use the adhesive hem tape.

I just bought an expensive dishwasher and it will be delivered tomorrow, however, my friends are now telling me it will cost alot of money to get a plumber to set it up. I was expecting I would be able to do it myself. Doesnt it just set up the same a a washing machine??? I dont have much room and I was going to put it in my laundry. Its a stand alone one. Can some one please tell me how it will need to be set up. Thanks.

Has anyone heard of using vinegar and water in the solution tank instead of using the liquid shampoo for carpets?

I was told that my carpets have soap build up.
I tried going over it several times with just water.
I had a proffessional come in to clean the rugs and this is what they told me. Soap build up.

Any suggestions how to remove it?

How often should you wash your pillowcase, and how often should you wash your pillow? I assume nasty germs can build up in the pillow from drool and whatnot that gets in there.

I am so angry!! UGH...I discovered I left my ink pen in the washing machine, and caught it before putting it in the dryer, but my clothes went through. I didn't see any ink stains on the wet clothes so just ran it through the dryer. What do I need to do, especially now I think my washing machine is probably ink stained. Do I also need to clean my drying machine?

I have seen other responses that once it's put through the dryer it's pretty much over. On the brightside, these are whites that have been stained. I assume I should make sure my washing machine is clean before doing anything.

Thanks for everyone's help.

My girlfriend tried to do me a favor and wanted to wash an old pillow of mine full of microbeads. The pillow was not designed to be washed but she didn't know this. now the washing machine is full of these things!

I have scooped up as much as possible with a strainer, and I have used a steam cleaner to suck up as many loose beads as possible. when I went through a partial spin cycle, more beads came out!

How do I get my machine back in working order?
