No. The dishwasher uses hot water with the detergent to clean and sanitize, otherwise known as clean or wash, the dishes.

No, the only thing you should do is rinse them with cold water just to take any left over food off. This will stop the filter from becoming blocked. The dishwasher will do all the sanitizing you need

I wash dishes by hand, even though I do have a dishwasher. That way I know they are clean, no leftover food or residue on the dishes!

What would be the point of washing them if they are already sanitized?Also, how do you 'sanitize' dishes?

Not sure what you mean by sanitizing them. I rinse and load them, throw in some detergent and a rinse agent and turn it on.
