Spray them with Shout (A LOT) and let them soak for a little bit. I sometimes rub in color safe bleach after that.

Don't wash them at home. Bring them to a laundry mat. Put them in the washing machine with regular detergent and color safe bleach. After that, throw them in the dryer.

I suggested going to a laundry mat because if you air dry them, they will smell like mildew. If you put them in your home dryer, chances are the shoes will pop the dryer door open. A laundrymat dryer is built for heavy duty jobs.

I actually wash it and wax it. Some spots by hand, but the majority I use an electric polisher. I have a cutting pad for compound and a wax pad for well...wax. After the coat of wax I'll go back over it with a sealant which protects the paint from the elements. When I wash it and the water still beads I know the sealant is still working.

Fill a bucket with Luke warm water, submerge your shoes, put a good quality detergent on them, using a hand scrub brush, thoroughly scrub the shoes, let them sit for 15 min., scrub again, do this until you are happy with the results. Put them in a washer with cold or Luke warm water, wash, when done let them air dry, do not put them in the dryer.

If you are talking about leather shoes--my fave way is to get some shout, spray on, and I have a scrub brush dedicated to tennis shoes only--and scrub with brush, wipe off with old towel--voila--clean shoes!!!

If they are soft like trainers- fill a pair of old socks with scented cat litter, and leave in trainers overnight. It gets rid of odours. Then use Talcuum powder on outside, and then brush off.

I use 409 with a cloth and toothbrush. Wipe it off with just a damp rag when you're finished.
