Depending on how long the stain has been there, you can use warm water and oxy clean. I had red wine spilled on a white couch and it took the stain right out. I was amazed. You should be able to find it in any hardware store.
Good luck.

~~Hydrogen perxide will remove it. However be sure to test an inconspicuous spot on your couch first to be sure it's colorfast.. If o lightening occurs then apply it to the stain, let it bubble away and remove with cold water. You may need to do this a couple of times if it has really set in. Good luck!~~

If you have baby products around the house you can use baby wipes, I know it sounds crazy but after reading this article http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/311413/how_to_clean_your_house_with_baby_products.html I tried it on some old carpet stains that have been there for awhile and after a couple minutes of scrubbing they came right out. I don't know what kind of stains you have but if you already have baby wipes around the house you should give it a try!

I just seen on TV last night that resolve has a new product out just for upholstered furniture, you might want to check that out. I know that there carpet products are good. If you know the stains on the couch, that would help, then we would direct our answers to that.

Have you tried Shout? I'm not sure how the stuff works, but apparently you just sit and yell at the stain until it disappears...

I've used Shout and Oxyclean on various cushions and pieces of upholstery, with good results.
