I am so angry!! UGH...I discovered I left my ink pen in the washing machine, and caught it before putting it in the dryer, but my clothes went through. I didn't see any ink stains on the wet clothes so just ran it through the dryer. What do I need to do, especially now I think my washing machine is probably ink stained. Do I also need to clean my drying machine?

I have seen other responses that once it's put through the dryer it's pretty much over. On the brightside, these are whites that have been stained. I assume I should make sure my washing machine is clean before doing anything.

Thanks for everyone's help.

My husband has done the same thing. He used nail polish remover and got all of the ink out of the washer and dryer. It worked...but it stinks.

Run your washing machine with only bleach - no detergent - in the water.

If the inside of your dryer is stained with ink, try and ink remover (found at local stores like Wal-Mart). If it doesn't come off, it's probably baked into the enamel from the the heat of the dryer and won't harm your clothes.

Bleach may not help with the whites...the best solution for ink stains is either rubbing alcohol or hair spray. Spray and rinse with water...spray again...keep it up until the stain is gone...its a lot of work!

For the washer, dryer...alcohol is best, but wash with water afterward...Our dorm dryer still has ink stains, but they are set and don't effect the clothing now.

Good luck!

If they are whites ,try using bleach with detergent after you wipe out the washer and dryer with a damp cloth. Usually ink is very hard to remove. try spray n wash before you wash them.

fill the washer up with water
pour in 1/2 cup bleach
let it sit 30 minutes
run through the wash cycle
b4 it rinses, check for stains
If they are still there, run a brillo or some type of abrasive over the stains
rinse and repeat if necessary

You can wash anything in your dishwasher. Even potatoes. The only problem is that potatoes aren't dishes, and neither are clothes. Turning the dishwasher into a tub might work, and washing by hand would definitely be good exercise.

Motsenbocker's #3. That whole line of products works well. Remember when removing stains, BLOT, don't rub. Use tissues or TP as they are the most absorbent. Paper towels have sacrificed absorbency for strength.
