I'm in the market for a new washer dryer combo - it may not have to last another 25 years but I would like to know it's almost as reliable. What brands can you recommend? (if you have any stores you can recommend in the Bay Area that would help, too)

i want a carpet cleaner for cleaning our carpets every few months. We have a dog and 2 cats and I really think we need one. I have heard that a lot of carpet cleaners lose cleaning power fast and that you need to research which one is a good brand. I know that $200 isn't that much to invest but we really don't want to spend a fortune on it. Does anybody know of or have a good brand or know which ones to not buy. Our place is pretty small (about 1,300 Sq. Ft. ) so i'm not too concerned about having to buy a fairly small model. Thanks...

Has anyone ever hired a company to clean your tile and grout? I found one that charges 39 cents/sq foot, but I don't know whether or not it's worth it.

I had two cats who urinated on my couch, and the smell will not go away. I have tried soap and water, Febreeze, pet odor remover, Lysol, and I even tried using a carpet cleaner on it, but nothing has worked. Do you have any suggestions?

I notice that occassionally you see a down comforter for sale that says "machine washable." however, mine says "dry clean only." What is it about some that make them machine washable? Isn't down made from ducks? and ducks like to get wet- so why couldn't my comforter get wet?

For a school project I invented a new way to clean pots. Basically I felt that I didn't like cleaning pots after they had gotten messy. Most pots are not dishwasher safe so it became a nuisance to clean them. It would be a real help if you could answer the question, (do you like cleaning pots?) say your gender and age, you don't have to enter your country, but if you did that'd be nice. Thank you so much!!

I wash my husbands dress clothes, and dry them shortly. As soon as they are done, I take them out and hang them up. He just has too many dress clothes for me to keep up with the ironing. His clothes mostly are even the "Wrinkle free ones" but they still look like they need ironed.
Does anyone have any tips?

My daughter decided instead of going to bed she was going to paint the carpet in her room with orange acrylic paint that I had used to paint a mural on her wall. Please help me- we rent and I would really like to get our security deposit back when we move.
